Sir,
I am directed to acknowledge the receipt
of your letter No. 76/174/D of the 23rd. ultimo with regard to the formation of a new Rifle Range north of Kowloon City, and to inform you in reply to paragraph 1 thereof that His Excellency the Governor is pleased to give the assurance that the Har Department will not be disturbed in their occupation of the new Rifle Range for a period of at least 10 years.

His Excellency is satisfied with the ar- rangement suggested in paragraph 2, and will be glad to learn that the amalgamation of the Hongkong Rifle Association with the Hong- kong Army Association has been successfully carried out.

Ian to inform you that you are correct in your assumption that the words "and to bear the cost of construc- tion" may be regarded as added to paragraph 3 of my letter of the 30th. January last.
